Somehow, we are already into May. We finally are getting longer days, and the chill in the air is slowly starting to disappear. We are seeing flowers with shades of purple, blue, yellow and orange pop up where the sun is able to peak through the trees. We are planting our gardens and planning our Mother’s Day gifts. If you are anything like us, we’re taking any opportunity to get outside, whether for a quick meal, or a walk in the sunshine.
In addition to enjoying the glimpses of Spring, we are also enjoying new arrivals, like our Coffee of the Month for May. We introduce to you, Ethiopia Mokamba. These beans are a blend from three different regions- Kambata (a region also known for their ginger), Sidamo and Wolyata. These arabica heirlooms are farmed at altitudes ranging from 1200-1500 MASL. Harvest occurs from October-December. The beans are naturally processed and sundried on raised beds, then carefully and concisely blended to create a balanced, harmonious profile with tasting notes of sweet berry, grape and chocolate. A little different than our typical blueberry packed Ethiopia. It’s been a really fun one to try.
