Java Taman Dadar is sourced from family-owned farms located near the villages of Curah Tatal and Kayumas on the island of Java, Indonesia. The beans are grown at 900-1600 meters in volcanic soil which provides perfect growing conditions. Taman Dadar, meaning flower garden, aptly describes the way smallholder coffee is cultivated, colorfully inter-cropped with paprika beans, avocados, and shade trees. It is well-hulled, a uniquely Indonesian processing method, producing a hallmark Indonesian flavor.
The beans are formed and focused with a clear beginning, middle and end on the palate. They are full bodied with good acid and the aroma is Javanese Floral, like walking through an Asian forest. This is a compelling coffee that makes you keep coming back to it.
